Queens Night Market

The Queens Night Market is a large, family-friendly open-air night market in Queens, featuring up to 100 independent vendors selling merchandise, art, and food and featuring small-scale cultural performances, all celebrating the rich cultural diversity and heritage of NYC and Queens.

New York Transit Museum

A hidden gem of a museum, The Transit Museum is located in a decommissioned subway station. Housed underground in an authentic 1936 subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, the Transit Museum’s working platform level spans a full city block, and is home to a rotating selection of twenty vintage subway and elevated cars dating back to 1907. Especially worth a stop if you have little ones!

Smorgasburg Williamsburg

Smorgasburg (a mash-up of “smorgasbord” and “Williamsburg”) launched in May 2011, and it has since incubated hundreds of independent businesses vending food and drink from around the world. It's so fun & you'll find a huge variety of local food and vendors!

The Noguchi Museum

Founded in 1985 by category-defying artist Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988), The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum (now known as The Noguchi Museum), was the first museum in the United States to be established, designed, and installed by a living artist to show their own work. Located in Long Island City, Queens, the Museum itself is widely viewed as among the artist’s greatest achievements.

Brooklyn Bridge

Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge for an "urban hike!" The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City, spanning the East River between the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first fixed crossing of the East River. On the Brooklyn end, check out the Brooklyn Bridge Park. On the Manhattan end, check out City Hall Park!

While most of our list is devoted to Brooklyn and Queens, The Whitney Museum of American Art is a must-see Manhattan destination. As the preeminent institution devoted to the art of the United States, the Whitney presents the full range of twentieth-century and contemporary American art, with a special focus on works by living artists. We love it also for the views from the top floor!

Red Hook

Red Hook is a waterfront neighborhood located on the New York Harbor offering fantastic views of the Statue of Liberty. The neighborhood is celebrated for its rich maritime history, cobbled streets, and industrial charm. Visit local breweries, galleries, grab a burger - it's a great afternoon adventure! We recommend reaching it by bike or MTA bus!
